The Market Bar and Bistro is situated in the very heart of Somerton, the ancient capital of Wessex. With an exterior that epitomises architecture of the 16th century, you will be pleasantly surprised by its modern and contemporary interior.

Having undergone a total refurbishment, the Market Bar is an ideal place to meet friends and enjoy a drink. If you feel like a snack there's a selection of tapas on offer or, if you'd like something more substantial, what better place than our Bistro, offering a wide range of dishes at prices to suit all. We serve our full menu at lunchtimes too, along with a lighter snack menu, so there's bound to be something you'll enjoy.

Bill Austin (chef/proprietor) has many years experience in the kitchen and delivers the best ingredients prepared and presented to the highest standards. These high standards are also adopted by the front of house team, led by Bill's wife Elaine, ensuring an all round enjoyable experience at the Market Bar and Bistro.
