The Market Bar and Bistro is situated in the very heart of Somerton, the ancient capital of Wessex. With an exterior that epitomises architecture of the 16th century, you will be pleasantly surprised by its modern and contemporary interior.

Our dining area is divided into two separate sections, the larger of the two is ideal for gatherings or parties of up to thirty people whilst our smaller one is ideal for a more intimate dining experience; and is also ideal for receptions of up to fourteen people.  For those seeking an informal setting in which to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, or something from our small plates menu, you can take advantage of our comfortable sofas at the front of the restaurant, or in the warmer months we have an outside seating area.

All our food is freshly prepared using only the best quality produce from local suppliers. If you are looking for exceptional food, friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Somerset then The Market Bar & Bistro should be your first port of call.

We are open for lunch from 11.30am until 3.00pm, Tuesday to Saturday, Sunday we open at noon and closed all of Monday. In the evenings, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we are open from 6pm until 11pm, Fridays and Saturdays we open at 6.pm and close at midnight; and on Sunday’s we are open from 6.pm until 10.30pm.
